It is time again for the election of a president of our country. In choosing the person to lead us,we
should take only a few things into consideration. One would think that it should be complicated.
Economic stability, personal rights and privacy, domestic and foreign issues, and other complicated
problems that will need to be addressed, might suggest a very long look at a whole book of qualifications.
Not so. The guidelines for addressing all of these issues are laid out for us very specifically in a document
written by the founding fathers of this country. There is not an issue, falling to the responsibility of a
federal government, that doesn't have the guidelines available in this document. It is the Constitution of
The United States. That makes our job considerably easier. One only needs to consider the candidate who would be the strongest defender of that constitution. No amount of personal funds - no amount of party loyalty - no amount of media backing, should be a consideration. These things and many more have come to play a part in who we decide to cast our vote for. We ask ourselves a lot of questions, but the primary question and the only relevant question should be, "Is this candidate capable of putting party politics, personal agendas, special interests, bias and discrimination aside and abide by the constitution?" Can he lead his country with speech and action that will give proper direction and advise in constitutional adherence to the citizens of this country? Rarely does a man of the proper character and integrity come along that is willing to take on the responsibility. There are many who claim to be such a person, but their records show an inconsistency with the rule of law given to us in the constitution. Many believe the document is for another time and the principles must be diluted to address some current issue that was unforeseen at the time of it's inception. They work to guide the citizens along a path that will make the turn away from it more palatable. It comes in the smallest of increments to ease the conscience and soothe the soul of the once true patriot. The collective result is a country that is unrecognizable by, and unreconcilable with, the constitution. It has long been my hope for a man to come along who would not only recognize this, but would work in public service to his country, to turn this around and head us back in the direction of the America our founding fathers had given us. It is the only legitimate America. I offer this in recognition of such a man. Ron Paul. I ask you to join me in supporting his efforts.
